Strider
We met Scout at about 10:30PM on September 6th, 2006. He made the trip very well with no indications of trauma from such a long day. It was cool here and so before getting into the car we played in the parking lot. It gave him an opportunity to get out of the crate and get a drink, have some treats and just run. It was after 11:00pm when we got home and we let the others out back and kept Scout out front to get used to the area a bit and to eat. He ate very well tonight.
Then introductions were in order; first Dahnia it was great seeing her reaction to him. Her ears stood up and her tail began wagging and they were friends immediately. Gandalf was next and in just minutes he and Scout were chasing and playing tug of war. Gandalf loves to play and is certainly larger than Scout but they played well together and Scout did not hesitate to go after the toy and Gandalf.

Nali and Scout just spent time sniffing each other, it looked like some formal dog ritual but while they did not play they did interact with each other and I know within hours tomorrow they too will be friends and playing.
Duncan was not impressed nor interested in Scout and just walked away. Duncan is our thinker and he will have to set back and watch how things go then he will get closer
So our first night was good and there are no indications of dog issues. He has made himself at home, between the trip and playing outside he is tried. He followed me into the den and is asleep under my desk beside my feet. Nancy and I are very impressed with him; his structure, his demeanor and his ability to cope. We are looking forward to showing him to friends and to the Arizona Weim community. We both know he will be Ch. Smokey Topaz Eagle Scout very soon.
